Northstar Church in Knoxville, Tennessee was birthed in the heart of our founding Pastor Scott Cagle in early 2003. After sharing this vision with a small core group a corporate prayer gathering was set for to further seek the Father’s heart.
On July 20, 2003, approximately 90 people gathered to worship and pray in the back yard of a home on Westland drive and were convinced that the Lord was calling us to plant a new work in the city called Northstar.
Our first official service was the following week, July 27, 2003 at the CAK Middle School gym with 305 in attendance. We took up our first ever offering spontaneously in hats and the Church was birthed!
From that point we were very nomadic in nature. For the next 3 months we met in the Performing Arts Center at Pellissippi State College. On September 21st of that year we offered our first ever Partnership Class and had 182 Charter Members covenant with us.
Late 2003 – 2005
From November 2, 2003- July 2005 we were blessed to call West Valley Middle School our home! The Church grew and experienced many “firsts” during those days. First Baptismal service, first international mission trip, first Fresh Encounter prayer service and the purchase of our land on Sherrill Boulevard.
On July 31st, 2005 we opened the doors on our first Campus on Carmichael road with multiple services.
We broke the 500 in attendance mark on Easter of 2007.
On Valentines Day of 2010, we had the Grand Opening of our present campus in the Sprung Structure (the Bubble), on Sherrill Blvd in West Knoxville, with just under 1000 people gathered to celebrate God’s goodness to us in this new season.
On October 26th, 2014, we launched our first Satellite Campus on John Sevier Highway in South Knoxville.
The rest of the Story is yet to be written, but we are fully convinced that the Father has a plan for us to be a part of a great Spiritual Awakening in the mountains of East Tennessee in the years to come!
