Our local vision is to mobilize the church to holistically love our neighbors.
We believe God has created you, gifted you, and placed you where you are for a Kingdom purpose. We are commanded to love our neighbor (Mark 12:30-31), and we are to be equipped for the work of ministry (Eph. 4:12). With this in mind, with the power of the Holy Spirit, we trust God will graciously use us to be a light in our community through the good news of the gospel.

Northstar Neighbors
NS Neighbors aims to develop outreach leaders who disciple and mobilize the Northstar family to be and bring the good news of Jesus to the Knoxville area. If you're interested in any of these teams, click below for info about how to get involved this month.
NS Neighbors Teams
Prayer
Our prayer team meets faithfully to cover our Northstar Neighbor teams and our community in prayer, asking God for guidance, protection, and open doors to share the Gospel. We’re also building relationships with local hospitals so we can offer comfort and prayer for patients and their families in times of need.
Neighbors & Nations
This ministry connects international individuals with caring volunteers who offer friendship, cultural exchange, and practical support to help them thrive and feel at home. Opportunities to serve include providing transportation, tutoring, sharing meals, and offering guidance about faith and local traditions.
Home Improvement
The Home Improvement Ministry serves neighbors in need. Especially nonbelievers, low-income families, foster families, single mothers, and widows, by assisting with small home projects while building relationships and sharing God’s love in a natural, caring way.
Cancer Care Support
This ministry supports cancer patients, their families, and treatment center staff through prayer, care packages, handmade comfort items, and practical donations, while also caring for members of the Northstar family facing cancer. There are many ways to get involved, whether by serving directly or giving through donations.
Young Adult Local Schools
This group of young adults partners with local schools to serve teachers, staff, and students through practical projects and prayer walks. It’s a great opportunity for young adults to support and build relationships within the community.
Pregnancy Response
Embrace Grace equips the church to love and support single, pregnant young women by offering practical, spiritual, and emotional care through small groups connected to a local pregnancy center. Volunteers are needed to help encourage and serve these women and their families.

Our Partner Organizations
To meet deep hurts, fight injustices, and provide holistic care, we support local organizations who are far more educated, experienced, and resourced to meet these needs. There are many wonderful organizations within Knoxville. Below are the ones we prioritize supporting. You can see their volunteer needs below.
Knoxville Internationals Network (KIN)
KIN encourages and empowers long-time locals to see and accept their international neighbors as we envision a metro Knoxville where everyone is welcomed–even embraced–regardless of country of origin. KIN connects volunteers with internationals, bringing in other nonprofits, government organizations, churches, and businesses when appropriate, so our international neighbors can thrive.

Tennessee Kids Belong
Tennessee Kids Belong exists to bring awareness to children and families in foster care. Not everyone is called to be a foster or adoptive parent, but everyone is called to care! WRAP is a tool that helps mobilize local faith communities to support adoptive and foster children and the families who care for them. When foster, adoptive, kinship, birth and at-risk families have Wrap Around care, they are given the support they need to thrive. From dropping off a meal or mowing a lawn, to helping with carpooling or providing respite care, there are countless ways to make an impact.
